Free Mental Health Therapy and Help Available for Sunset Mesa Residents
As our community continues the long journey of rebuilding and recovering after the devastating fires, it is important to remember that healing isn't just about clearing lots and pouring concrete. The emotional and mental toll of experiencing a wildfire can linger long after the smoke clears, and taking care of our peace of mind is a vital part of bringing Sunset Mesa back to strength.
To support us in this area, Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services has reached out to our community to share their Disaster Care Program, which is completely free for wildfire survivors.
What the Program Offers
The Disaster Care Program is designed specifically to help individuals navigate the emotional aftermath of the LA wildfires. Sunset Mesa residents can access:
Free Individual Therapy: Survivors receive 6 free, confidential sessions with a Licensed Therapist focused entirely on emotional recovery and coping with trauma.
Long-Term Connection: If you need support beyond the initial sessions, therapists will help identify your ongoing needs and link you with appropriate long-term services.
Wellness Workshops & Event Support: Group resources and wellness workshops are also available to help neighbors heal together.
Bilingual Resources: All services, flyers, and support are readily available in both English and Spanish.
How to Access These Services
Whether you are dealing with the stress of the rebuild, experiencing anxiety during high-wind days, or simply need a safe space to process what happened, these services are here for you. There is no cost, and seeking help is entirely confidential.
