Preserving Your View: A Call for Pre-Fire Photos
In our ongoing commitment to preserving the beautiful ocean views that define Sunset Mesa, we are once again reaching out for your help. One of the most effective tools we have to protect our neighborhood's character is a visual record of the views homeowners enjoyed before the January fire.
Even if your previous view was just a small glimpse of the water, every photograph is a valuable asset. These images are critical for the Architectural Committee (AC) when evaluating new home construction projects and determining potential view interference. Ultimately, this effort helps preserve both your personal enjoyment of your home and your overall property value. If you have not provided these photos already, please do so now.
How You Can Help
We ask all homeowners to look through their digital albums for any photos showing their home's old ocean view. When you find them, please provide the following details:
The address of the home where the photo was taken.
The specific location on the property (e.g., upstairs bedroom, back yard, or patio) if known.
Submission Methods
There are two easy ways to get these important records to the Architectural Committee:
Online Upload (Preferred): Submit them directly through PayHOA to your home’s account. Click this link https://app.payhoa.com/app/forms/94368 and follow the instructions.
Via Email: Send the photos as attachments to SMPOABoard@gmail.com. We will upload them to your account in PayHOA.
Whenever a new rebuild is reviewed by the AC, they review the homes whose views may be affected. If there are photos of your old pre-fire view, it will make it a lot easier to access if the new home construction would interfere with that view.
By sharing your photos, you make the job of protecting our community’s views much easier and more effective. Thank you for your contribution to preserving the spirit of Sunset Mesa.
