Standing Together: A January 7th Sunset Mesa Remembrance

As we approach the one-year anniversary of the Palisades Fire on January 7, many of us are reflecting on the day that changed our community forever. We know that this date may carry a heavy emotional weight for our residents, and we want to ensure that no one has to process those feelings alone.

The SMPOA Board and the Architectural Committee invite you to join your friends and neighbors for a quiet afternoon of reflection and community support.

Event Details

  • When: Wednesday, January 7, 2026

  • Time: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Where: The viewpoint on Coastline Drive (just above Castlerock Street)

A Time for Reflection

This gathering is intended to be simple and peaceful. There will be no formal program or speeches. Instead, we invite you to come as you are to enjoy the music of a classical quartet and share the company of those who understand our journey best—our neighbors.

We will have hot chocolate and light snacks available to keep everyone warm as the sun begins to set. It is a space designed for us to collectively remember what was lost, acknowledge the resilience we have shown, and look forward to the homes and new memories we will rebuild together.

Whether you lost your home, were displaced, or simply want to support your neighbors, please join us if you feel like being with company.  We look forward to seeing your faces on Coastline Drive as we support one another through this anniversary.
